Katelyn Read “Scars”

Written by: Emily Epp – Imurj Production Intern

Katelyn Read’s warm melodies transport you, her modern-folk style creates a new home for your ears to bathe in. With lyrics that tell stories of hope and living, a sense of calm is created within the listener’s ear.

Read’s new album We’ve Come This Far is a step away from her previous release She Can Feel It, and her work on NBC’s ‘The Voice’. While keeping true to her soulful folk style, the new album is more active and upbeat. This paired with her classic down-tempo tracks take the listener on a journey through complex instrumentation and arrangement.

Read’s final track “Scars” on We’ve Come This Far features bright vocals telling the story about her growing family through hauntingly beautiful lyrics. This video is accompanied by a light melodious instrumental that allows Read’s dynamic vocals to shine.

We’ve Come This Far is available on iTunes & Spotify.
