Looking to enjoy some free local music? Here is a full list of all the free shows happening at Imurj during the month of September.

Tuesday, September 3

 

Local Jam

9:00pm – Eight Bit Disaster is the house band for Local Jams in August. This open jam assembles groups of musicians who may or may not know each other on the stage at Imurj and lets them come up with fifteen minutes of improvised music on the spot.

 

Wednesday, September 4

 

Live Music Happy Hour from 4:30 to 6:30 featuring local artists. 

4:30-5:30pm – Paula Snyder: Vocalist, pianist, and guitarist. Playing originals and covers, genres range from Jazz, Rock, Folk, and Broadway

5:30-6:30pm – Franklin Boone: Indie recording-artist and singer-songwriter from Durham, NC. Franklin writes in several genres, but the majority of his original work falls into a Rock-Alternative-R&B/Soul blend. You can check out his music here

 

Music Open Mic

7:00pm – Sign-ups at 6:30 and each performer gets 2 songs or 10 minutes max on stage with a mix of all genres and skill levels

Thursday Shmursday: Hopscotch Day Party

This event is free to the public, and benefits Girls Rock NC! Come headband for a cause with performances from The Muslims, Cosmic Punk, AUGURS,  and Fish Dad. There will be raffle prizes from Rumors, Deco Raleigh, and more!

5:30-6:30pm – Acisse Jay: A singer/songwriter/cover artist based in Raleigh/Durham, NC. With a sound that can be described as “the soul of rock,” Acisse Jay brings new perspectives to rock, blues, and soul, with influences attributable to Tina Turner, Betty Davis, Etta James, and Tracy Chapman.

Unofficial Lizzo After-Party with Sunqueen Kelcey

9:00pm – A FREE night of entertainment featuring SunQueen Kelcey! SunQueen Kelcey has three things at the center of her music: social justice, self love, and sexual freedom. These are more than ingredients to her lyrics, they are her soul; and she has such a strong calling to these tenets that watching her at the mic is more than a concert.
