Featured Recording: Cody Daniel – “Up Above”
My new single, “Up Above”, is a song that I wrote about my late grandmother, who passed away from Alzheimer’s/Dementia. I was incredibly close with her growing up, so this is a piece of music that is very near and dear to my heart.
I couldn’t make this happen without the help of some very talented friends. String arrangements was always something that I wanted to implement into my music one day, and with the genius of David Scott (violin) and Kaitlin Grady (cello), the song was taken to a whole other level that I didn’t even know was possible! With producer Paul Voran (of Imurj Studios) having previous experience with engineering and mixing orchestral music, I knew he was a great choice for the project. Also, just an all around awesome guy to work with and bounce ideas off of.
My hope is that this song/video is able to reach those who have also experience the loss of a loved one that have suffered from this disease and that they find it comforting to know that they are not alone.
